Joint CEO, Katrina Percy, attended a recent panel on Embedding an innovation culture in health and care at the PPP Integrated Care delivery Forum

Katrina was joined on the panel by colleagues from primary care and NHS England discussing the priorities for the government in harnessing innovation, the cultural barriers preventing widespread innovation and adoption and how the ICS structure could be leveraged to drive innovation adoption.

The panel session was extremely well attended and the recognition that integrated neighbourhood team working is a key enabler supporting and driving the transformation of primary and community care.

Katrina informed the audience that the key misunderstanding NAPC is seeing, is a belief that INTs are yet another sticking plaster/ navigator/ integrator/ complex care coordinator, created to navigate a fragmented siloed system of teams. She stressed the need to start with front line teams, engaging and activating them to work at the top of their license to create a single team to meet the needs of a population. She also stressed that we see the most progress when systems such as Dorset, are driving the NHS element in a way that docks well with wider partners including local authorities and the voluntary sector.
